Piarco International Airport is the main international airport of Trinidad and Tobago, located 19 miles (30 km) east of Port of Spain, the capital city. It is the primary hub for Caribbean Airlines, the country’s national airline, and the largest airline in the Caribbean. The airport has direct scheduled flights to destinations in the United States, Canada, Central America, South America, and Europe.

Piarco Airport was opened in 1931 and has undergone several major expansions and renovations over the years. The current terminal building was opened in 2006 and features a modern design with high ceilings, glass walls, and a large central atrium. The airport has a total of 27 gates, including a dedicated concourse for flights to and from Tobago.

Piarco Airport Terminal

Piarco International Airport has two terminals, the North Terminal and the South Terminal.

The North Terminal is the main passenger terminal and handles all commercial passenger airline traffic. It has 29 parking positions and 14 jetway gates spread across two concourses. Gates 1-7 are on the western concourse and serve all international airlines, while Gates 8-14 are on the eastern concourse and serve all international Caribbean Airlines flights.

The South Terminal is used for air cargo operations and helicopter operations. It also houses the Airports Administration Centre, the head office of the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.
