Toussaint Louverture International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Haiti. It is located in Tabarre, a commune of Port-au-Prince, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the city center. The airport was originally built as an airbase for the United States Army in 1942. It was later converted to a civilian airport in 1947.
