Los Garzones Airport is a public airport serving the city of Montería, the capital of the Córdoba Department in Colombia. Located 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) northeast of the city center, it is the only airport in the department that can accommodate modern jets (up to Airbus A330 size). The airport is one of the busiest in Colombia’s Caribbean region in terms of passenger flow.
Los Garzones International Airport was inaugurated in 1974, replacing the older Berástegui Airport, which was no longer able to handle the increasing traffic of the time. In 2016, Los Garzones handled over 968,000 passengers, making it the 12th busiest airport in Colombia.
