Carriel Sur International Airport is an international airport located in Greater Concepción, Chile, 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the city center of Concepción. It is the largest airport in the Bío Bío Region and serves as a major gateway to the region and the country’s south-central zone.
The airport was inaugurated in 1968 and has since undergone several expansions and renovations to accommodate growing passenger traffic. It currently has two passenger terminals, a cargo terminal, and a runway capable of handling large commercial aircraft.
