Carrasco International Airport (MVD)

Named after the Uruguayan aviation pioneer Cesareo L. Berisso, Carrasco International is Latin America’s most travel-friendly airport bustling with exclusive amenities for the convenience of travellers. It is nestled in the heart of Uruguay hosting an airbase of the Uruguayan Air Force. 

Carrasco International Airport commenced its operations in 1947. The facility has since undergone a number of transformations and has evolved into a facility of cultural confluence and economic development. The Uruguayan government transferred the administration and operations department of the airport to the Puerta del Sur S.A. group.

Carrasco Airport Terminal

Designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly, the airport’s current terminal can handle more than 3 million passengers a year. It features an on-site area for over 1200 vehicles flanked by four jetways, separate floors for arrivals, and departures. It started operations in 2009. 

Carrasco International Airport also features a new USD 15 million cargo terminal along with LAR 141 Flight Schools.
